The Open Bioinformatics Group

Whether you’re interested in studying bioinformatics or work in the field professionally, come join us at one of our meetups where you can learn with others and get help solving problems in the wide field of bioinformatics.  Our group typically meets at either the UCSD Geisel Library or the Bella Vista Social Club and Caffe.  See our Open Bioinformatics Meetup page for details.

Our group also meets with the San Diego Python Users Group in the same locations.  We typically have 15-20 people, regardless of the meetup RSVP listing.  Some of our meetups also coincide with the San Diego Machine Learning Society, in which case we may have 30+ people attending.

The San Diego Life Science Coffee Meetup also gathers on Wednesday mornings at the Bella Vista Social Club and Caffe where life science entrepreneurs will gather to discuss new ideas.  The San Diego Informatics Forum is another great group where professionals and entrepreneurs in bioinformatics may have luncheons and other meetings to discuss recent developments both in academia and the private sector.
